Capacity building workshop on environmental reporting for media professionals held in Dhaka

Desk Report: A three-day long capacity building workshop for media professionals on environmental reporting was completed in Dhaka organized by National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) and DW Academy.

10 journalists from all over the country and 5 officials of NIMC participated in this workshop.

The workshop focused on environment, climate and disaster reporting.

Sufi Zakir Hossain, Director General of NIMC presided over the closing ceremony of the workshop on Monday (November 4) afternoon.

Azizul Haque Director (Admin) of NIMC, Dr. Maruf Newaz Director (Training and Events) of NIMC, Sohel Rana Deputy Director of NIMC and Rafiqul Islam Montu pioneer of Coastal Journalism in Bangladesh spoke at the closing ceremony.

Earlier, on Saturday (November 2) morning, Dr. Mohammad Altaf Ul Alam Additional Secretary (Broadcasting) of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the workshop. He formally inaugurated the training.

Sufi Zakir Hossain, Director General of NIMC presided over the opening ceremony of the workshop and Jimmy Amir Project Coordinator (Bangladesh, Asia and Europe) of DW Academy spoke as a special guest on the occasion.

Iftekhar Mahmood prominent environment journalist of Bangladesh and Dr. Maruf Nawaz Director (Training and Programs) of NIMC also spoke at the inauguration ceremony.
