Editors Desk:<\/strong> <\/em>The national-level \u2018Community Solution Pitch Day\u2019 of the \u2018imaGen Ventures Youth Challenge 2024-25\u2019 was successfully held in Dhaka to address climate change risks and leverage the innovative potential of the younger generation. Jointly organized by UNICEF Bangladesh and JAAGO Foundation Trust under the \u2018Shopner Sharothi\u2019 project, the competition took place at Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan on Monday (26 January).<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Sixteen top youth innovator teams from eight divisions across the country participated in this final round after a rigorous selection process. During the day-long event, the youth presented their eco-friendly and sustainable social businesses to a panel of judges. This was the final stage of a year-long process, which included divisional boot camps, mentorship, and social innovation incubation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Private Sector Representatives, environmental experts, and representatives from the development sector were present at the event. Expert panels and experienced mentors served as judges, evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of the youth\u2019s innovative initiatives.<\/div>\n

Rana Flowers, Representative from UNICEF Bangladesh, remarked, \u201cAs Bangladesh confronts the challenges of climate change, you are the most powerful catalysts of this fight and the visionary entrepreneurs of tomorrow. By stepping beyond conventional approaches, your local and innovative solutions hold the key to driving meaningful change. Through the \u2018Shopner Sharothi\u2019 project, we are bridging your unique ideas with the global stage, ensuring they contribute significantly to global climate solutions. We believe that when young people lead with vision and purpose, communities thrive, and future generations inherit a safer planet.\u201d<\/div>\n

Abdullah Al Araf, Mentor of the imaGen Ventures Youth Challenge, Global Winner, and Co-Founder of EcoTech Innovation, said,\u00a0As someone who has grown through this platform, I see today\u2019s participants not as competitors, but as future changemakers. This initiative is not just a competition\u2014it is a journey of building confidence, leadership, and sustainable solutions. The next generation of social and climate entrepreneurs is emerging from here.<\/div>\n

Kamrul Kibria Ayon, Assistant General Manager, JAAGO Foundation Trust, said in his closing remarks, \u201cToday\u2019s event is the result of a year\u2019s worth of hard work. We prepared these teams through divisional boot camps, mentorship, and seed funding. Each of the 16 teams is a winner because they dared to bring change to their respective areas. \u2018JAAGO\u2019 is committed to institutionalizing the creativity of youth.\u201d<\/div>\n

The 16 participating teams presented highly diverse and innovative solutions aimed at climate adaptation and sustainability. Considering the creativity, the sustainability and the actual social impact the Team Eco Sentinels from the Khulna Division emerged as the winner for their innovative floating agriculture initiative, which supports farmers in flood-prone areas and contributes significantly to climate adaptation and sustainable agricultural practices.<\/div>\n

The winning team selected through this Pitch Day will now enter an advanced incubation stage to further enhance their skills for the global competition. At the end of the ceremony, guests handed over honors to the winners.<\/div>\n
