Desk Report: YouthNet Global’s Additional National Coordinator S.M. Shahin Alom obtained first place of the ‘Climate Voices in Motion: Digital Content Competition 2025’, a national contest designed to amplify youth voices and creativity in addressing climate change.
The competition featured submissions from current and former grantees and fellows of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD). Among the top five winners, Shahin stood out with his compelling and impactful content, securing the first place.
Organizers said Shahin’s submission impressed the judges with its creative presentation, unique storytelling, and powerful message, effectively highlighting youth perspectives on building climate resilience in Bangladesh.
The winners were recognized at the Youth Award Ceremony 2025, held at the Multipurpose Hall of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). The event was jointly organized by ICCCAD, IUB, and the Embassy of Sweden Dhaka.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shahin said, This achievement is not just mine, but of all the young people in the coastal regions who are working relentlessly to tackle the challenges of climate change. Our stories and our voices are the power of change. I believe that addressing the climate crisis is impossible without active youth participation. This recognition will inspire me to work with even more courage and responsibility in the days ahead.
